Why to choose a wedding in Assisi

Assisi is a small town full of great places where to get married with Catholic and civil ceremonies. Civil ceremonies can be held in the Town Hall, the “Palazzo dei Priori”. It is the symbol of the city, whose construction began in 1275. During the XV century many restorations were carried out; this is why the facade is decorated with a lot of crests dated 1400.

Civil ceremonies can be held in the Town Hall, the “Palazzo dei Priori”. It is the symbol of the city, whose construction began in 1275. During the XV century many restorations were carried out; this is why the facade is decorated with a lot of crests dated 1400.

The Council Hall was decorated by architect and painter Charles Gino Venanzi, who is the project of wooden furniture and the frescoes on the ceiling.
The pavilion vault shows allegorical figures of the School of Charity, Labour and Hygiene, praising the time of Concorde Justice and Freedom.

The eighteen lunettes are decorated with medallions bearing the crest of Assisi and portraits of famous people, each identified by a scroll. In the spandrels are the arms of the major cities of Umbria.

Both Halls are in Palazzo dei Priori on the main square so at the end of your wedding ceremony you can walk hand in hand in the historical centre taking lovely pictures.
